Categories and visit priorities
Every place in Guidez carries up to two labels.
Category
Section titled “Category”What kind of place it is. There are seven, and they never change:
- Restaurant
- Cafe
- Bar
- Attraction
- Lodging
- Nature
- Beach
On a pin, the category is the small icon in the white center circle. Category colors are all shades of green, so category never competes with priority for your attention.
Visit priority
Section titled “Visit priority”How much the creator thinks it is worth your time. There are three levels, and a place does not have to have one:
| Priority | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Must-see | Do not skip this |
| Cool place | Worth it if it fits |
| If you have time | A nice extra |
Priority is the color of the pin: darkest green for must-see, down to the lightest for if-you-have-time. In dark mode the greens are brighter so the levels stay distinct.
When several creators recommend the same place with different priorities, the most urgent one wins on the pin.
Filtering by them
Section titled “Filtering by them”Inside a map, category chips and the priority filter let you narrow to what you want. A map only offers chips for labels it actually contains. See Using a creator’s map.
